About this task

Procedure

  1. From the Common Service Desktop, turn off the ICN(s) (see ICN On/Off Procedure).
  2. Turn off the System power. Refer to System Cabinet PDU Main Breaker LOTO Procedure.
  3. Remove L Upper Front Cover and R Upper Front Cover. Refer to SC Cover Removal.
  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration below:
    1. Disconnect the connectors from J2 and J3 of the clock splitter.
    2. Loosen 2 screws and slide out the clock splitter.
    3. Disconnect the connector from J1.

  5. Install the new clock splitter by reverse order of removal.
  6. Restore ISC by reverse order of removal.

Finalization

  1. Restore the Power. Refer to System Cabinet PDU Main Breaker LOTO Procedure.
  2. Turn on the ICNs per the ICN On/Off Procedure.
    Note:

    For the first 3 or 4 minutes, LEDs come on only at the rear of the ICN, next to the power cables. After 3 to 4 minutes, you will hear the ICN fans come on, and then the LED at the front of the ICN starts to flash.

  3. Perform a TPS reset, and then do a check scan to make sure the system operates correctly.
