Safety

Before working in any GE Healthcare MR suite or performing any GE Healthcare service procedure, you must:

  • Have read and understood all hazard conditions and safety requirements in the latest revision of the GE Healthcare MR Service Safety Manual (5452735).
  • Have successfully completed all relevant GE Healthcare Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) courses (or for non-GE employees, equivalent workplace training courses).
  • Comply with all site-specific training and workplace safety requirements.

If you have any safety concerns at any time, do not begin work or immediately stop work and move to a safe location. Immediately contact your supervisor or site safety officer for instructions on how to proceed.

About this task

Procedure

  1. From the Common Service Desktop, turn off the ICN. See ICN On/Off Procedure.
  2. Do not remove the drive from its static sensitive packaging until it is needed.
  3. Press the orange circle on the front of the ICN to remove the drive.
  4. Carefully pull out the drive.
  5. Take out the new drive from the static-sensitive packaging and insert into the ICN.
  6. Close the front lever to properly seat the drive.

Finalization

  1. Turn on the ICN. See ICN On/Off procedure for Dell R640 (Gen 7) .
    Note: For the first three or four minutes, the LEDs illuminate only at the rear of the ICN, next to the power cables. After three to four minutes, the ICN fans are audible and the LED on the front of the ICN starts flashing.
  2. Configure the new ICN, using VRE Configuration.
  3. Perform Check Scan.
