Installing a table caster

Installs a caster onto the dockable table.

Procedure

  1. Install the caster collar onto the caster shaft.
    Note: Use the mark on the bottom of the collar to make sure the collar is oriented properly on the caster shaft.

  2. Apply anti-seize to the first few threads of the table casting.
  3. Install the caster into the table base by turning it clockwise until the length of exposed caster shaft matches the measurement recorded from removal.

  4. Slide the collar up the caster shaft to its home position.
  5. Apply Loctite #243 to the threads of the collar bolt.
  6. Install the collar bolt securing the caster collar to the table base.

  7. Apply Loctite #243 to the threads of the caster linkage pin.
  8. Place the unthreaded end of the caster linkage pin into the opening in the brake linkage plate.
  9. Install the caster linkage pin into the wheel lock lever.
  10. Lower the jack until all four casters are on the floor and remove the jack.
  11. Move the wheel lock lever to the free swivel position.

  12. Raise the table so the weight is off of the lock bar. Raise the table lock safety bar.
  13. Dock the table.
