Reenroll an MR scanner in IPM (IDAM)
Learn how to reenroll an MR scanner in IDAM.
About this task
The tasks in this section are performed by the GE Service Field Engineer.
You must add and enroll any imaging devices at the customer facility to the Customer IPM Organization on the Edison Cloud before you can exchange protocols between them. In this process, enrollment credentials, which provide authorization for the exchange of data, are generated by IPM and stored on the imaging device.
You may need to reenroll a device if the previous credentials were deleted or corrupted on the imaging device, or if you are upgrading the device software. You perform this process in tandem with the IPM Project Manager, who will complete the necessary steps in the IPM application while you perform these steps in the imaging device (for details, see topic "Reenroll a device from IPM (IPM Device Registration User" in the IPM Service Manual).
To reenroll an imaging device with IPM:
Procedure
- Confirm network communications between the scanner and IPM are working for details, see topic "Check device-IPM connections" in the IPM Service Manual.
- Check that the scanner software is at the version required to support IPM and upgrade if necessary.
- Check the network configuration:
- Verify or configure network parameters for a customer DNS server, including the IP address of their Network Time Protocol (NTP) server.
- If the customer's proxy server requires SSL certificate-based authentication, install any SSL certificates on the imaging device.
- Disconnect the MR scanner from IPM:
- In the imaging device console, open a Command Prompt/C Shell as a root user.
- Navigate to the IPM configuration directory:
cd /opt/gehc/mr_ipm/config/ - Make a backup of the current configuration:
cp ccl_aws_config.cfg ccl_aws_config.cfg-bkp - Open the AWS configuration file:
vi ccl_aws_config.cfg - Change the values for the following parameters from true to false:
- IS_DEVICE_REGISTERED
- IS_DEVICE_CONNECTED
- IS_DEVICE_ENROLLED
- Close the Command Prompt/C Shell with superuser permissions.
- Stop and restart IPM from the MR scanner:
- Open a Command Prompt/C Shell with regular user permissions.
- Navigate to the IPM scripts directory:
cd /opt/gehc/mr_ipm/scripts/ - Stop IPM:
hmstop mr-ipm ./mr-ipm stop - Restart IPM and wait a few minutes:
hmrestart mr-ipm
- Reenable the IPM connection:
- In the service desktop, under Configuration, switch to another tab and then back to IPM tab to reload the screen.
- Reboot the imaging device.
- Await confirmation from the GE Healthcare Project Manager that the IPM reenrollment process is complete.
- In the MR Service Desktop
Get Connected page, enter the IPM sign in credentials and click Connect to reenroll the imaging device in IPM:
- User name: Enter the user name for the GE Service Field Engineer account.
- Password: Enter the password for the GE Service Field Engineer account.
- IPM configuration URL: Enter the URL for IPM device configuration on the Edison Cloud commercial environment (for example, CHINA).
- Advise the GE Healthcare Project Manager that you have completed the device reenrollment steps.
