Required conditions
Magnet front cover is installed.

About this task

The procedure for installing the left and right control panel covers is identical. Follow the procedure below to install either or both access panel(s) as required.

Procedure

Set the applicable remote latch release lever to the latched position.

Place the bottom hinge of the panel cover in the slot of the magnet front cover.
Reconnect the lanyard to the metal extension on the panel cover.

Use a tie wrap to connect the cables to the metal extension on the panel cover. Be sure to secure the tie wrap at the point indicated on the fiber optic cables.

Important: The fiber optic cables are marked to indicate where the tie wrap should be applied so they are not bent beyond the minimum bending radius.

Cut the excess tie wrap flush with no protruding sharp edges or points.
Reconnect the cables to the IRD as detailed below.

Align the four remote latch pins on the control panel cover with the four remote latches on the magnet front cover.

Install control panel cover onto the magnet front cover.
- Make sure that the cables are not caught in the covers when pushing the covers in.
- Make sure all four remote latch pins are held by their remote latches by pressing on the control panel in these four general pin locations.
