Warning

Strong magnetic field

Ferrous materials can become dangerous projectiles in the presence of the magnetic field that the magnet produces.

Do not bring any ferrous tools or equipment into the magnet room.

Perform LOTO on the PDU. See the MR Service Safety Manual, PN 5452735.
Remove the front portion of the split bridge Bridge and Longitudinal Drive Belt Replacement.
Remove the rear cable cover and rear trim rings.

Remove the nuts and washers holding the rear pedestal to the magnet, and move the rear pedestal away from the magnet.

Remove the five screws holding the rear end bell to the arm brackets.

Damage to the cables may occur
Several cables are located behind the rear end bell. Take care when removing the end bell not to force or pull on any cables.
Remove the two RF transmit cables from the RF body coil.
Remove the two blower hoses from the RF body coil.
Disconnect the speaker wires at the top of the rear end bell.
Remove the patient air hose from the rear end bell.
Remove the rear end bell.

Disconnect the two bore light cables.
Reverse the above steps to install the rear end bell. Confirm the gap between the rear end bell and the RF body coil is 2.5 +/- 0.5 mm with a desired gap of 2.0 mm.

Verify proper fit of the covers.

Remove LOTO from the PDU. See the MR Service Safety Manual, PN 5452735.
Verify that the speaker, patient air, and bore lights work.
Do a body scan to ensure the system is working properly (see Doing a check scan).
