Replacing the Operator Control Panel (OCP)

This procedure describes the removal and installation of the OCP including the keypads and E-stop button.

Safety

Before working in any GE Healthcare MR suite or performing any GE Healthcare service procedure, you must:

  • Have read and understood all hazard conditions and safety requirements in the latest revision of the GE Healthcare MR Service Safety Manual (5452735).
  • Have successfully completed all relevant GE Healthcare Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) courses (or for non-GE employees, equivalent workplace training courses).
  • Comply with all site-specific training and workplace safety requirements.

If you have any safety concerns at any time, do not begin work or immediately stop work and move to a safe location. Immediately contact your supervisor or site safety officer for instructions on how to proceed.

Removing the Operator Control Panel (OCP)

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the cable from the Emergency Stop button.

  2. Disconnect the cable from the OCP.

  3. Remove the six screws that attach the OCP to the magnet.

  4. Remove the OCP.
  5. Repeat the procedure for the adjacent OCP, if necessary.

Procedure

  1. Install an OCP.
    Figure 4. Secure screws
  2. Secure the OCP with six M6 x 16 Socket Head Screws (1000-M6C016-33).
  3. Connect the grey cable to the OCP.

  4. Connect the Emergency Stop cable.

  5. Repeat the procedure for the adjacent OCP, if necessary.

Procedure

  1. Reinstall the covers:
  2. Remove LOTO and restart the host computer.
  3. Check the functionality of the replaced item. Run the associated diagnostic, if necessary.
  4. From the Common Service Desktop, select Diagnostics > Magnet Room > SRI Functional Tests.
