Safety

Before working in any GE Healthcare MR suite or performing any GE Healthcare service procedure, you must:

  • Have read and understood all hazard conditions and safety requirements in the latest revision of the GE Healthcare MR Service Safety Manual (5452735).
  • Have successfully completed all relevant GE Healthcare Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) courses (or for non-GE employees, equivalent workplace training courses).
  • Comply with all site-specific training and workplace safety requirements.

If you have any safety concerns at any time, do not begin work or immediately stop work and move to a safe location. Immediately contact your supervisor or site safety officer for instructions on how to proceed.

Installation overview

The GE BrainWave On Console option consists of third-party software and hardware that can be used to present fMRI patient stimuli synchronized with MR scanning. This document describes the installation for the BrainWave On Console option. The hardware consists of the response system, including response pads and connecting cables. Cable runs must be made from the magnet through the penetration panel to the control room.

For upgrades from BrainWave Lite, the paradigm that previously used the StimPC must be recreated in the Paradigm Manager on the MR console. Make sure the customer collects the details of that hardware paradigms before you start the upgrade.

note: The BrainWave On Console option requires that software version DV26.0 or later is installed on a Dell T5810 host PC (or a newer model).
