About this task

Overview

This procedure applies to ICNs for either HDxt or DV systems:

  • DV ICNs are located in the PGR Cabinet.

Figure 1. Typical ICN

Procedure

  1. Turn off the ICNs from the Common Service Desktop (see ICN On/Off Procedure).
  2. On the front of the ICN, press the large square button on the hard drive to be removed and then slide the hard drive out.
  3. Perform a disk wipe on the old hard drive. See the latest revision of the Disk Management Tool Service Manual, PN 5500610-1EN available from the online documentation library.
  4. Insert the new hard drive into the slot until secured in place.

Finalization

  1. Turn ICNs on per ICN On/Off Procedure.
    Note:

For the first three or four minutes, the LEDs illuminate only at the rear of the ICN, next to the power cables. After three to four minutes, the ICN fans are audible and the LED on the front of the ICN starts flashing.

  2. Configure the new ICN, using VRE Reconfiguration.
  3. Perform a check scan to ensure the system is working properly.
