Installing the secondary latch actuating cable

Installs the secondary latch actuating cable in the dockable patient table.

Procedure

  1. Insert the new cable through the cable casing.
  2. Route the cable through the cable casing to the push rod.
  3. Loop the cable twice through the hole in the push rod and secure with the set screw. Tighten securely to prevent the cable from slipping.
  4. Adjust the cable so that when the push rod button is pushed in 0.375 inches (9.6 mm), the pin stop is flush with the pin housing. Use the threaded cable adjuster for fine adjustment. Tighten the lock nut after adjustment is complete, then cut off excess length of cable.

  5. Raise the table lock safety bar.
  6. Replace the cradle, front base cover, and upper and lower base covers.
  7. Return the table to the magnet room and dock the table.
  8. Drive the cradle into the magnet to expose the cradle release pin. Make sure the release pin is flush to 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) below flush.
