About this task

  • The rod link connector acts like a mechanical fuse. If the rod is bent, investigate and correct the problem. If the root cause is not corrected, the rods will continue to bend.

  • Only straighten the rods to keep customer site working. Order replacement rods quickly and install the rods soon after delivery. Even the slightest bend in the rod will weaken the rod’s strength.

  • Do not try to readjust the length of the rod. Rod length for both DV and GEM systems have now been set to the same length.

  • New rods must be installed. The old rods cannot be straightened for reuse. The adjustments made will not deter the rods from bending again.

  • Always replace both rods at the same time.
