Add imaging device and generate an enrollment code (IPM Device Registration User)

Learn how to add an imaging device in IPM.

About this task

You must add and enroll any imaging devices at the customer facility to the on the before you can exchange protocols between them. In this process, generates enrollment credentials, which provide authorization for the exchange of data, and stores them on the imaging device.

Tip: During Early Readiness Training (ERT), the will provide you with URLs for , , and Device Registration (on device). The w will provide device information for performing this task.

You perform this process in tandem with the , who will complete the necessary steps in the imaging device while you perform these steps in the IPM application. For details, see topic Enroll an imaging device in IPM.

You perform this process each time you connect a new imaging device to .

Procedure

  1. Add an imaging device:
    1. Sign in to IPM.
    2. In the IPM menu panel, select Settings > Devices.
    3. On the IPM toolbar, select Add Device.
    4. In the new row, fill in or select the details for the device you want to add and then click Save:
      • System ID: A globally unique ID for the device
      • Name: An organization’s unique name for the device
      • Site Name: The site name in the

      Confirmation messages are displayed.
  2. Generate an enrollment code:
    1. In the State field, confirm Ready is displayed, indicating that the device is registered with the .
    2. In the Status field, click Generate enrollment code and copy or make a note of the displayed enrollment code and the expiration information: Enrollment code expires at mm/dd/yy, h:mmAM/PM
      CAUTION: This enrollment code is valid for 7 days. If you and the do not complete the device enrollment process in this time, see topic. Reenroll a device from IPM (IPM Device Registration User).
    3. Let the configuring the device know when the device state in is Ready and send the enrollment code they need to register IPM on the imaging device ase well as the expiration date by which they need to complete the registration.
      Note: If you and the are working in different time zones, advise them of your time zone, so they can calculate the expiration information in their time zone.
    4. Await confirmation from the that IPM has been successfully activated on the imaging device.
    5. In the IPM Settings content area, confirm:
      • Activated is displayed in the State field.
      • A green check mark is displayed in the Status field indicated that the device is connected.
      • The remaining fields have been populated in :
        • Modality: CT or MR
        • Model: device model
        • Hospital: device location in the facility
  3. Confirm to the that the device registration process is complete.
