Doing the Image Compute Node (ICN) reconstruction diagnostic

The Image Compute Node (ICN) reconstruction diagnostic includes the ICN time sync test, the ICN image reconstruction test, and the ICN process verification test.

Purpose

This document contains:

  • Doing a host Image Compute Node (ICN) time sync test. This diagnostic tests the time synchronization between the host and ICN. It attempts to execute the date command on the ICN through the remote shell protocol. The ICN and host times are compared to ensure that they meet specifications capabilities.
  • Doing an Image Compute Node (ICN) image reconstruction test. This diagnostic tests the functionally of the ICN’s image reconstruction capabilities. Each ICN will have its components tested, memory, processors, software and others. This confirms each ICN is capable of performing image reconstruction.

ICN process verification test takes a set of previously collected raw data and reconstructs the whole set several times, testing image integrity by performing checksums on the images and validating them against saved checksum values.

  • Doing an Image Compute Node (ICN) process verification test. This diagnostic tests the correct number of processes (like recon, acquisition) running on an ICN, using a configuration file that specifies the process name and the number of instances that should be running on the ICN.

Requirements

The ICNs must be turned on and have a network connection to the host.
