Doing the Signal Protection Unit (SPU) to Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) loopback test

The Signal Protection Unit (SPU) to Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) loopback test verifies the data path in the PAC I/F in the PSC FPGA on the Integrated Control Engine (ICE) board.

Figure 1. PAC diagnostics

Purpose

This test verifies the data path in the PAC I/F in the PSC FPGA on the ICE board.

SPU definition: Signal Processing Unit for Physiological Gating.

Components tested

PAC I/F in the PSC FPGA on the ICE board.

Requirements

None.

Test sequence

  1. Click Calculate Time to get an estimate of the time it will take to run the selected diagnostics.
  2. Click Run to initiate the test.

During this test, the SPU on the ICE board sends serial data to the PAC I/F in the PSC FPGA. The PAC I/F in the PSC FPGA returns the data directly. The SPU verifies that the correct data is returned.

Note: Do not change the Test Options settings from the default settings unless instructed to do so by a GE Healthcare engineer. There are very few circumstances when these settings need to be changed.

Results

  1. Output values are judged pass or fail. In the event of failure, the details of the failure can be found in the GE System Log.
  2. Although you can click the 1st Error number to see the nature of the error, we recommend that you view the GE System Log to view all the errors that were recorded.
  3. If this test fails, do the PAC Power up.
  4. Feasible FRU replacement: If SPU to FPGA Loopback failed, replace the ICE.
