Purpose

This tool applies to systems with multiple ICN configurations only. Each ICN has a host name. This utility identifies each ICN and its host name. This is a helpful identifier when conducting troubleshooting and repair procedures.

Test sequence

  1. Navigate to the ICN Identification utility. Select the identification time from the drop-down menu.

    The default time is 30 seconds. The LED can flash for the maximum length of five minutes.

  2. Click ICN1 or ICN2. The ICN selected is identified by a flashing LED on the front chassis.

Results

The ICN selected is identified by a flashing LED on the front chassis (including systems with silver Sun ICNs).

For systems with a black Dedicated Computing ICN, only the MAC address displays. Confirm this address is correct with the ICN MAC address label located on the back of the ICN.
