Subscribe to the IPM application using a utility (IPM Application Administrator)

Learn how to run a utility to request and approve an IPM subscription.

About this task

You must create a connection between a and the application on the .

You can request and approve an application subscription and create the required IPM Device Group using an external GE utility. You will need:
  • IPM-Application-Subscription-Utility-win32-ia32.zip. A ZIP file containing a GE utility that runs on Microsoft Windows 32 operating systems. Download this file to your computer from this GE Box folder: IPM Service Tools.
  • user account name and password.

To subscribe to the application:

Procedure

  1. From the file explorer on your computer, navigate to and extract the contents of IPM-Application-Subscription-Utility-win32-ia32.zip.
  2. In the IPM-Application-Subscription-Utility-win32-ia32 folder, double-click IPM-Application-Subscription-Utility.exe.

    Result

    The IPM Application Subscription Utility opens.
  3. Complete the following fields and click Run:
    IPM Application Administrator credentials
    Complete the following fields:
    • Username: Enter the IPM Application Administrator user account name, including the domain. For example: ipm.app.admin@hc.ge.com
    • Password: Enter the password for this account. The password characters are masked with asterisks (*). Click the Show Password icon to display the password.
    • IDAM Application URL: Enter the URL for the application.
    • IPM API URL: Enter the URL for the application.
    Subscribe organization to IPM application
    Select this check box and complete the following fields:
    • IPM Organization Administrator username: Enter the user account name, excluding the domain. For example: ipm.org.admin.ge.Gordon.Gore.
    • Password: Enter the password for this account. The password characters are masked with asterisks (*). Click the Show password icon to display the password.

    Result

    A confirmation message is displayed on completion. This may take several minutes. If error messages are returned, follow the instructions for resolving the problem.
  1. Confirm that the has been subscribed to :
    1. Sign in to IPM.
    2. From the menu panel, click App subscription.
    3. In the ipm row, ensure that your domain name (for example, ipm.chcs.org) appears in the Organization name column and Enabled in the Status column.
