Installing McAfee antivirus for DV26 R05

Procedure

  1. Click C Shell... on the Service Desktop manager.
    Note: The Shell window can only be launched when the EA3 user is included in the authorized EA3 group. Users not in this EA3 group will not have access to launch the Shell window. If you are not logged in as the proper logon user, log out and then log back on as the correct EA3 user with the authorized permissions.
  2. Log in as a root user.
    1. Type su - and press Enter.
    2. Type the root password and press Enter.
  3. Put the antivirus CD/DVD on the tray.
  4. In the root terminal, type antivirus -i and press Enter.
    Note: Do not attempt to close the terminal or type Ctrl+c or Ctrl+z during the installation process. Doing so will break and corrupt the antivirus installation.
  5. The installation is complete when the following happens:
    1. The version is displayed.
    2. Antivirus Installed Successfully is displayed.
    3. The disc tray is ejected out.
