Prerequisites
  • Record the service license ID. See Managing SSA service licenses.
  • Record the IIP configuration information, which may not be saved during SaveInfo.
  • After the HIPAA/Security setting is configured, the choice cannot be changed without reinstalling the software. See Security levels.
  • If the host PC, its components, or language change, the SSA licenses must be updated. On-site Internet connectivity is required. .
  • Request customer to backup image data.
  • If research software and hardware are installed, contact GEHC Research Support for backup and restore instructions.
Note: Refer to the MR Service Pack Software Matrix (DOC1667089), available from the online documentation library and make sure the necessary service pack media (if any) is available. Do not start the software load until this media is available.

  • MR Host PC Linux Base Load OS DVD.

  • Operator Manual DVD.
  • Service Pack DVD (as required).
  • BrainWave Applications Software DVD (if the host PC is a Dell T5810).
  • Blank DVD (quantity as needed for SaveInfo).

Install SSAThe SSA license is restored during the RestoreInfo process. This step is not necessary for reinstallation unless the service license ID has been modified. If the service license ID has been modified, or if this is a new install, record the service license ID and contact OLE to generate a new license for the site.

If you are upgrading to any of the following software revisions or later, DV 25.1_R04, 25.1_R05, 26.0_R06, 28.0_R06, 29.0_R02, or 29.1_R02, or changing the host PC or any of its components, the SSA 16-digit license code will change. Additionally, the SSA API requires an additional signature file. This requires the SSA soft key license for the site to be regenerated and both files (.dat & .ssa) must be reloaded to the host computer.

Note: Signa Secure Advanced option: If the customer purchased this license, configure the security setting in Guided Install to Signa Secure Advanced. Guided Install may need to be restarted to enable security configuration.
Configure training PC (ONLY if installing as such)
Note: The training PC is an optional standalone PC used for training on systems other than MR.

Install third-party software and/or devices (for example - Brainwave, FUS, MRE, and so forth), as applicableLoad the BrainWave software DVD on the Dell host. See Installing BrainWave software. Refer to the online documentation library for vendor-specific installation manuals.
Install latest service pack (if required)Loading software updates from repository or CD/DVD.
RebootReboot and log in to applications (also applies to training PC).
Note: The first boot after a software upgrade will take a long time due to extended TPS Reset.
Note: During the upgrade to DV26 from an earlier DV version, E-Stop may be triggered (during the first boot-up) due to a timeout waiting for the TFTP server that causes the PEM board to revert to Safe mode. To recover from this, press EMO Reset on the PDU and do a TPS Reset.
Installation and calibration(For new installation only) Continue with the next steps in the Installation and Calibration Wizard. Refer to Installation and calibration wizard (ICW) Installation mode.
(For reinstallation only) Launch Installation and Calibration Wizard and complete any necessary calibration procedures. Refer to Installation and calibration wizard (ICW) Upgrade mode.
