  • Possible equipment damage. Completely remove the Quad Head Coil from the cradle before performing any body scans. Failure to do so may damage the head coil T/R network.

  • Never vent the bellows. Always connect the bellows to the PAC Assembly before stretching it. Failure to connect bellows to PAC Assembly first causes inaccurate waveforms and, therefore, inaccurate results.

Procedure

  1. Connect bellows to the Enclosure Interface module.
  2. Go to Tools tab.
  3. Select Gating Control menu.
  4. Select Respiratory. The Respiratory Waveform appears
  5. Take the respiratory bellows in both hands and gently pull on either end.
  6. Pull the bellows by hand duplicating the motion of typical regular breathing. If the bellows and respiratory compensation software is working properly the LED's should follow the actions of the bellows. If it does not, proceed by troubleshooting the bellows (for tears or holes), connections and then the PAC assembly for problems.
  7. Verify waveform is displayed following action of bellows.
    note:

The respiratory waveform will be displayed on the IRD if the system is so equipped. If not, it will be displayed on the Enclosure display.

Finalization

No finalization steps.
