Updating the McAfee DAT file with ePO integration

This topic describes how to set up McAfee AntiVirus DAT file if the scanner is integrated with ePO.

1. Click C Shell... on the Service Desktop manager.
2. Log in as a root user.
   1. Type su - and press Enter.
   2. Type the root password and press Enter.
   If you are updating McAfee without ePO integration see Updating the McAfee DAT file without ePO integration.
3. To check the version of the file in the root terminal type antivirus -v and press Enter.
4. In the root terminal type antivirus -u and press Enter.
5. To install the DAT file from the ePO server, type 1 and press Enter.
6. Wait for Task was successfully started message.
7. To check status of Scan, type antivirus –s and press Enter.
   note: This update process takes about 15-20 minutes depending on the network traffic. The process is complete when the Task Status displays Completed.
8. To check the version after the task is completed, type antivirus -v and press Enter.
