Installing updates from Remote Software Download (RSD) for software patches after DV29.1

Remote Software Download (RSD) is an installer application that helps to install new updates from Service Packs whenever they are released and pushed from the GE back office.

Procedure

  1. Power up the system and log on.
  2. If a software patch is available for installation, the UPDATE READY TO INSTALL screen displays.

    1. From the Software Download Manager screen, select the check box next to the item you want to download.
    2. Click Install Now.
    3. Note the installation time, which may influence your decision to start or delay the installation.
      Note: To view installation details related to the selected download, click Show Details.
  3. After you click Install Now, a confirmation screen appears.

    1. Select the Acknowledge check box.
    2. Click Continue to Install.
  4. When the installation is complete (the message area shows INSTALLED), click Close to exit the screen. The system continues with startup.
