Laser Radiation Hazard!
Invisible laser radiation can be emitted from disconnected fiber-optic cables or connectors.
Do not stare into the beam, point the cable or connector ends at your eyes, or view through optical instruments.

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause permanent damage to electronic components. Observe the following ESD precautions:
- Wear a static wrist strap to ensure that any accumulated electrostatic charge is discharged from your body to the ground.
- Create a common ground for the equipment being worked on by connecting the static-free mat, static wrist strap, and peripheral units to that piece of equipment.

The SFP optical transceiver is very sensitive to ESD. SFP latent failures can occur, in dry climates or low relative humidity, surpassing their ESD protection. Contaminant failures can occur in SFP optics and exposed glass Rx and Tx cable ends. Do not touch the exposed ends on fiber connectors. Leave the dust caps in place until you are ready to install the SFP module. Use the Fiber Optics Cleaning Kit to clean both the SFP and cable end every time they are replaced or swapped from one port to another, or when using a loopback. When working with the SFP optical transceiver or SFP Loopback, also observe the following precautions:
- Always use ESD protection when handling the SFP optical transceiver to prevent early failure.
- Always keep a protective cap on unplugged fiber connections.
- The SFP must be shipped in antistatic packaging. Discard any SFP shipped or stored without proper ESD protection.

Procedure

Remove L Upper Front Cover and R Upper Front Cover. Refer to SC Cover Removal
Disconnect all connectors from front panel of CAM lite 3.
Loosen 2(or 4) screws fixing board to the chassis.

Push release tabs (1 or 2 according to the board) in the lever, and gently pull the extractor tab(s) of the circuit board.
Slide the circuit board all the way out of the card cage, being careful not to bend or bind the card in any way.

note:
The circuit board should be handled using only the faceplate, ejectors, and the edges of the board.

Place the card in an appropriate shipping package, or discard, if applicable.
Remove the packing material from the replacement board, and gently slide the circuit board along the slot guides into the chassis.
Gently engage the circuit board connectors with the backplane. If it doesn’t feel like the circuit board is properly engaging the backplane, remove the board and check the connectors for bent or broken pins.
Once the board ejectors contact the CAM lite 3 chassis faceplate, gently push the ejectors in to the center of the board. This action will cause the ejectors to insert the board into the chassis. Do not attempt to use anything other than the ejectors to insert or remove the board from the chassis.
Tighten the faceplate holding screws to secure the circuit board to the card rack. Caution: Do not over-tighten these screws.
Reconnect the all connectors to board.
Restore the system cabinet by reverse order of removal.

Finalization

Restore the Power. Refer to System Cabinet PDU Main Breaker LOTO Procedure.
If Board related to ASC is replaced, perform the following steps.
1. If any board except Amp Interface board is replaced, perform UPM - Head Setup and Calibration and Universal Power Monitor - Body Setup and Calibration.
2. For any board replacement, perform UPM- Body and Head Functional Check.
Run MGD Diagnostics to ensure proper functionality.
Run one head or body scan.
