Secondary Aperture Replacement

Prerequisites

Overview

Conversion Factor: 1 ft-lb = 1.356 N-m

  • Voltage may be present.
  • Use proper lockout/tagout procedures before replacing components.
note: Please check the component P/N when replace the collimator related parts, should be ordered the same P/N according to the label on each component.

Procedure

  1. Remove gantry power. Be certain to follow appropriate Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  2. Remove the gantry side, top and front cover.
  3. Turn OFF all 3 switches (AXIAL DRIVE ENABLE, HVDC ENABLE, 120 VAC) on the Service Switch Panel.
  4. Position the gantry with the X-Ray Tube at six-o'clock.
  5. Remove the six countersunk M2.5 flat head mounting screws.
  6. Remove the secondary aperture and place in shipping container for return. Be careful not to damage the collimator output window.
  7. Install the new secondary aperture ensuring not to damage any of the interior edges due to the critical nature of x-ray filtering.
  8. Tighten the six (6) flat head screws using Loctite 242 10CC.

Finalization

  1. Perform CBF/SAG Alignment Process
