System Scanning Test

Prerequisites

The System Scanning Test provides the necessary steps to exercise the system and to ensure system integrity before releasing.

2 Acquire Scans

Procedure

  1. Select NEW PATIENT.
  2. Type following entries in listed Patient Information fields:
    1. Patient ID: Service
    2. Patient Name: System Scanning Test
  3. Select Service from Protocol Selection, Anatomical Selector.
  4. Select [MANUFACTURING].
    1. If SERVICE SYSTEM SCANNING TEST exists, perform Using Service System Scanning Test Protocol.
    2. If SERVICE SYSTEM SCANNING TEST does not exist, perform Using System Scan/Cust Qual Reli Protocol.
    note: Not all software releases have the protocol as of the release of this procedure.

2.1 Using Service System Scanning Test Protocol

Procedure

  1. Select SERVICE SYSTEM SCANNING TEST.
  2. Click CONFIRM.
  3. Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM when it flashes.
  4. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. First Scout scans are performed.
  5. Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM when it flashes.
  6. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Second Scout scans are performed.
  7. Click NEXT SERIES
  8. Click CONFIRM.
  9. Press MOVE TO SCAN and PRESCRIBED TILT on SCIM when they flash.
    note: Hold PRESCRIBED TILT until tilt position is reached.
  10. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Axial scans are performed.
  11. Click NEXT SERIES
  12. Click CONFIRM.
  13. Press MOVE TO SCAN and PRESCRIBED TILT on SCIM when they flash.
    note: Hold PRESCRIBED TILT until tilt position is reached.
  14. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Helical scans are performed.
  15. Click END EXAM.
  16. If PPS Response window is displayed, click COMPLETE.
  17. Skip to Section 4.3.

2.2 Using System Scan/Cust Qual Reli Protocol

Procedure

  1. Select SYSTEM SCAN/CUST QUAL RELI.
  2. Modify Series 1 – Scout as follows:
    note: All Scout protocols are modified.
    1. Click START LOC.
    2. Enter S80 and press ENTER.
    3. Click END LOC.
    4. Enter I80 and press ENTER.
  3. Click CONFIRM.
  4. Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM when it flashes.
  5. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. First Scout scans are performed.
  6. Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM when it flashes.
  7. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Second Scout scans are performed.
  8. Click NEXT SERIES
  9. Delete Groups 3 (Images 65-96) and 4 (Images 97-128) of Series 2.
    1. Select Images 97 - 128 and click DELETE SELECTED GROUP.
    2. Select Images 65 - 96, if not already selected, and click DELETE SELECTED GROUP.
  10. Modify Series 2 – Axial as follows:
    note: All Axial protocols are modified.
    1. Click GANTRY TILT.
    2. Enter I15 and press ENTER.
    3. Click START LOC.
    4. Enter S65 and press ENTER.
    5. Click END LOC.
    6. Enter I15.235 and press ENTER.
  11. Click CONFIRM.
  12. Press MOVE TO SCAN and PRESCRIBED TILT on SCIM when they flash.
    note: Hold PRESCRIBED TILT until tilt position is reached.
  13. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Axial scans are performed.
  14. Click NEXT SERIES
  15. Modify Series 3 - Helical as follows:
    note: All Helical protocols are modified.
    1. Click START LOC.
    2. Enter S90 and press ENTER.
    3. Click END LOC.
    4. Enter I40 and press ENTER.
    5. Click NO. OF IMAGES.
    6. Enter 27 and press ENTER.
  16. Click CONFIRM.
  17. Press [MOVE TO SCAN] and [PRESCRIBED TILT] on SCIM when they flash.
    note: Hold PRESCRIBED TILT until tilt position is reached.
  18. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Helical scans are performed.
  19. Click END EXAM.
  20. If PPS Response window is displayed, click COMPLETE.

3 Image Review

Procedure

  1. Select ImageWorks desktop.
  2. Select the scanned examination from List/Select browser.
  3. Click VIEWER and visually review all images from for unusual artifacts (rings, streaks, shading, cupping, noise, or center artifacts).
    note: If any artifacts are identified, perform appropriate corrective action to resolve problem and retest.
  4. Record results on System Scanning Test Report and store with system history records.

4 Finalization
