No personnel or patients should be in the area of the gantry while scanning without adequate radiation safety precautions being utilized.

Follow ALL required safety and PPE procedures customary for your organization when working on this product.

Overview

This document provides the necessary steps to demonstrate System Image Quality.

Record phantom serial number in the appropriate GE e4879 Installation form, GE e4879 Certified Component Verification form, or GE Data Report Planned Maintenance Schedule form.
Perform Center Phantom
Set Internal Landmark.

Complete Phantom Setup (See Section 4.1).
Select NEW PATIENT.
Type the following entries in the listed Patient Information fields:
1. Patient ID: Service
2. Patient Name: Quality Assurance Test
Select Service from Protocol Selection, Anatomical Selector.
Select MANUFACTURING, IMGSER 20CMQA VCT 64.
Click CONFIRM to scan Series 1, Series Description: QA1 4x5/120kV/575mA/1s prescription.
Press START on SCIM/GSCB when it flashes.
Click NEXT SERIES when Series 1 scans are completed.
Click CONFIRM to scan Series 2, Series Description: QA3 Heli/0.516/120kV/135mA/1s prescription.
Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM/GSCB when it flashes.
Press START on SCIM/GSCB when it flashes.
Click END EXAM.
If PPS Response window is displayed, click COMPLETE.

Select SERVICE desktop and move Service desktop to left monitor.
Select IMAGE QUALITY from Service desktop.
Select IMAGE ANALYSIS and move Image Analysis window to left monitor.
Select scanned Examination Number, Series Number 1 and Image Number 1 from right monitor List/Select browser.
Click AUTO 1X radio button on Image Analysis window.
Click AUTO 1X selection button, and select IMGSER 20QA, QA1 4x5/120kv/57mA/1sec from pull down menus.
Click ACCEPT.

note:
At test completion, a Report window is displayed, which includes specification limits and Pass/Fail results.

note:
Test Pass/Fail summary is posted at top of Report window.

note:
If test fails, repeat test. If test fails persistently, perform appropriate corrective action.
Click DISMISS in Report window.
Select scanned Examination Number, Series Number 3 and Image Number 1 from right monitor List/Select browser.
Click Image Analysis AUTO 1X selection button, and select IMGSER 20QA, QA3 Heli/0.516/120kv/135mA/1sec, AUTO from pull down menus.
Click ACCEPT.

note:
At test completion, a Report window is displayed, which includes specification limits and Pass/Fail results.

Click DISMISS in Report window.
Click QUIT in Image Analysis window.

Record Standard Test Pass/Fail summary in the appropriate GE e4879 Installation form, GE e4879 Certified Component Verification form, or GE Data Report Planned Maintenance Schedule form.
Store the appropriate GE e4879 Installation form, GE e4879 Certified Component Verification form, or GE Data Report Planned Maintenance Schedule form with system history records.
Store the Standard Test Quality Assurance results with system history records. The results are stored in a text file on the scanner and can be retrieved at /usr/g/service/state/image_analysis.log.
