Setting up 3.0T anterior array (AA)

Set up the 3.0T anterior array (AA) for the Multi-Coil Quality Assurance (MCQA) check.

Prerequisites

The 3.0T coil MCQA uses the 3.0T phantoms, which are pink in color.
Note: Coils do not ship with phantoms. Phantoms come in a unified phantom set with the system.

Safety

Before working in any GE Healthcare MR suite or performing any GE Healthcare service procedure, you must:

  • Have read and understood all hazard conditions and safety requirements in the latest revision of the GE Healthcare MR Service Safety Manual (5452735).
  • Have successfully completed all relevant GE Healthcare Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) courses (or for non-GE employees, equivalent workplace training courses).
  • Comply with all site-specific training and workplace safety requirements.

If you have any safety concerns at any time, do not begin work or immediately stop work and move to a safe location. Immediately contact your supervisor or site safety officer for instructions on how to proceed.

Procedure

  1. Put the flat filler panel on the table.

  2. Do the following steps:
    1. Place two TL unified phantoms on the table. Align the phantoms with the edge of the flat filler panel.
      Note: Phantom positioner spacer is not needed for setup.

    2. Place PA phantom positioner onto the two TL unified phantoms.

  3. Do the following steps to set up the AA coil:
    1. Place the AA coil on top of the PA phantom positioner and secure to each other with Velcro straps.
    2. Connect the coil to port P2.

  4. Set the center position of the AA coil connected on port P2 using the Touch and Go strips on the side of the table.

  5. Landmark the AA coil at the crosshair mark and press Advance to Scan.

  6. Run the MCQA check.
    Note: Select 3.0T_16Ch_AA_by_GE (or equivalent platform option) in the Current Coil field.
