Doing the ICW coherent noise check

  • Cancel all previous exams. Click End Exam.
  • Remove any patient positioning devices, such as patient restraints or other attached devices.
Safety

Before working in any GE Healthcare MR suite or performing any GE Healthcare service procedure, you must:

  • Have read and understood all hazard conditions and safety requirements in the latest revision of the GE Healthcare MR Service Safety Manual (5452735).
  • Have successfully completed all relevant GE Healthcare Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) courses (or for non-GE employees, equivalent workplace training courses).
  • Comply with all site-specific training and workplace safety requirements.

If you have any safety concerns at any time, do not begin work or immediately stop work and move to a safe location. Immediately contact your supervisor or site safety officer for instructions on how to proceed.

About this task

Procedure

  1. Set up the TDI HNA as follows:
    1. Remove the service filler panel to uncover the cradle slot.
    2. Put the TDI HNA coil into the cradle slot and insert the connector.
    3. Landmark on the center line of the TDI HNA.
    4. Press Advance to Scan.

  2. Select Calibration Wizard from the calibration menu and select Click here to start this tool.
  3. When the Calibration Wizard starts, select Coherent Noise Test tool from the menu.
  4. Review and confirm the pre- and post-dependencies, and then select Click here to start this tool.

  5. Click Start.
    Note:
    • The tool displays a status of Pass or Fail in this mode.
    • As the tests run, status messages show in the text box below the menu. As each test runs, a message shows which data is being collected or processed. Start time and estimated completion times also show.
    • You can use the scroll bar on the right to move up or down through the messages.
    • Although the estimated time may expire, the test is not complete until you see a success or failure message.
  6. To view the result details, click Information button next to the status.
  7. If the test does not pass, resolve all errors or failures and run the test again.

    The test results show automatically. If you closed the test results, you can click Viewer to show them again.

    The viewer is also available from the CSD:

    From the CSD, go to Image Quality > Coherent Noise Tool. Click Coherent Noise Test Tool Results Viewer to open the viewer.

    Note: When you open the Viewer, it shows the most recent data by default. To see older data, you can go to File > Open CNT data.
