Removing Cradle Assembly

Prerequisites

Overview

This procedure is applicable to the following table products:

  • Signa Lightweight Patient Transport Table

  • Signa Oncology Patient Transport Table Option

  • Signa OR-Compatible Patient Transport Table Option

The cradle removal procedure requires:

  • One person for a Signa Lightweight Patient Transport Table

  • Two people for a Signa Oncology or Signa OR-Compatible Patient Transport Table Option

Procedure

  1. Undock the patient table.
  2. Lock the patient table in place. Verify that the wheels are locked.
  3. Person 1 and person 2 should perform these tasks simultaneously.
    1. Person 1: Standing at the foot end of the table, depress the dock pedal to lower the cradle latch block (B).
    2. Person 2: Standing at the head end of the table, at the same time, manually rotate the transfer board cradle release lever (A) and push in the cradle release button (C).
    3. Person 2: Raise the cradle about 3 to 4 inches.

  4. While doing the tasks in step 3, slide the cradle forward enough so that the cradle covers the top area of the cradle latch block. See the following illustration. Release the dock pedal to release the cradle latch block. Release the cradle button and cradle release lever.

    • caution
    • Pinched Fingers
    • Forward movement of the cradle can pinch your finger while holding down cradle latch block.
    • Move the cradle forward slowly and deliberately until the bottom edge of the cradle sufficiently covers the top of the cradle latch block, where you can remove your finger from the block.
  5. Team lift the cradle off the table using 2 people.
  6. Move the cradle to an appropriate area for servicing.
  7. Clean the table.
