Tube Install Certification

Prerequisites

Overview

This document provides the necessary steps to configure the Tube Install Certification.

note: Tube Install certification (TIC) shoule be performed after Tube Replacement, LFC.

1 GE Service Personnel

Perform the following steps when originally setting Tube Install Certification or verifying a GE Medical Systems Tube installation, within trial period, with an active GE Class M service USB key.

Procedure

  1. Insert and activate Class M Service key.
  2. Record X-ray Tube Insert Model Number on X-ray tube rating plate.
  3. Select Configuration from Service Desktop.
  4. Select Tube Install Certification. A screen, as depicted in Figure 1, is displayed.

  5. Meanwhile, a screen as depicted in Figure 2 is displayed. There are two selections Performix 40 Plus Tube (Liquid Bearing) and All Others (Liquid Bearing) as radio buttons.
    note: All Others (Liquid Bearing) is selected as default setting after software reload (LFC) or New Tube Configuration tool is started.

  6. If X-ray tube rating plate Tube Insert Model Base Number is 5401074 (LB Tube), click Performix 40 Plus Tube (Liquid Bearing) from Tube Install Certification Tool Change Tube Identity pane.

    If X-ray tube rating plate Tube Insert Model Base Number is NOT 5401074, keep All Others (Liquid Bearing) selection from Tube Install Certification Tool Change Tube Identity pane.

  7. Click CONFIRM. A Confirmation screen, as depicted in Figure 5 or Figure 6, is displayed.

  8. Click Accept and click OK in the next pop up window.
  9. Click Dismiss on the TIC main window.
  10. Restart system manually to make it effective.
  11. Deactivate and remove Class M Service key.

2 Non-GE Service Personnel

Procedure

  1. Record X-ray Tube Insert Model Number on X-ray tube rating plate.
  2. Select CONFIGURATION from Service Desktop.
  3. Select TUBE INSTALL CERTIFICATION. A screen, as depicted in Figure 7, is displayed.

  4. If X-ray tube rating plate Tube Insert Model Base Number is 5401074 (LB Tube), click GE Performix 40 Plus Tube (Liquid Bearing) from Tube Install Certification Tool Change Tube Identity pane.

    If X-ray tube rating plate Tube Insert Model Base Number is NOT 5401074, keep All Others from Tube Install Certification Tool Change Tube Identity pane.

  5. Click CONFIRM. A Confirmation screen, as depicted in Figure 10 or Figure 11, is displayed.

  6. Click Accept and click OK in the next pop up window. Tube Install Certification Tool top pane is updated as depicted in Figure 12 or Figure 13.
    note: For GE Medical Systems Tube configuration, the Tube Install Certification Tool displays the number of Days Remaining in the Trial Period. A certified GE Field Service Engineer must confirm the tube identity during the trial period. If the trial period expires before a certified GE Field Service Engineer confirms the tube identity, the system will automatically default to "All Others" functionality.

    note: In case of Trial Period expiration after the 30 days, GE Performix 40 Plus (Liquid Bearing) radio button greyed.

    Customer still has opportunity to change Tube Identity, when Class M key insert, GE Performix 40 Plus (Liquid Bearing) radio button will active and selectable.

  7. Click Dismiss on the TIC main window.
  8. Restart system manually to make it effective.
