GSI Detailed Calibration
Prerequisites
This document provides the necessary steps to detailed calibrate the system for Gemstone Spectral Imaging.
1 Setup
Procedure
- Move table to longitudinal home position.
- Attach phantom holder to gantry end of cradle.
- Mount phantom to phantom holder.
- Place bubble level on top of phantom, positioned along Z-axis. Adjust phantom holder back knob until phantom is level front to back.
2 Calibration
Procedure
- Click SCANNER UTILITIES.
- Click GSI DETAILED CALIBRATION.note: Gantry Balance is performed.
- Click OK in Attention window.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes.
- Center phantom.note: Setup and centering must be completed and calibration started in less than 30 minutes, otherwise required to start over.
- Turn on laser alignment lights.
- Move table into gantry until axial internal alignment lights are aligned with phantom's axial reference mark.
- Adjust phantom holder side knob until sagittal internal alignment lights are aligned with phantom's sagittal reference mark.
- Elevate table until coronal internal alignment lights are aligned with phantom's coronal reference mark.
- Set Internal Landmark.
- Move table out of gantry 80mm.note: Axial internal alignment lights should be in water area of phantom.
- Elevate table 40mm.
- Click CONFIRM.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Phantom Centering is performed.
- Adjust phantom position if results are out of specification
range.note: Phantom center specification is ±1mm.
- Repeat steps [h] – [j] until phantom is centered.
- Click CONTINUE when phantom is centered.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes.
- Elevate table 40mm.
- Center phantom.
- Click CONFIRM.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Phantom Centering is performed.
- Adjust phantom position if results are out of specification
range.note: Phantom center specification is ±1mm.
- Repeat steps [a] – [c] until phantom is centered.
- Press CONTINUE when phantom is centered.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes.
- Click QUIT.note: If this procedure has been done as part of Tube Replacement procedure, return to Tube replacement procedure for remaining steps.
