Detailed Calibration

Prerequisites

This document provides the necessary steps to detailed calibrate the system.

1 Setup

Procedure

  1. Move table to longitudinal home position.
  2. Attach phantom holder to gantry end of cradle.
  3. Mount phantom to phantom holder.
  4. Place bubble level on top of phantom, positioned along Z-axis. Adjust phantom holder back knob until phantom is level front to back.

2 Calibration

Procedure

  1. Click SCANNER UTILITIES.
  2. Click DETAILED CALIBRATION. Gantry Balance is performed.
  3. Verify all FOCAL SPOT are selected (highlighted).
    note:

    All KV, SFOV, and SLICE COLLIMATION are forced on and not selectable.

  4. Click CONFIRM.
  5. Click OK in Attention window.
  6. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Air Calibrations are performed.
  7. Center phantom.
    note:

    Setup and centering must be completed and calibration started in less than 30 minutes, otherwise required to start over.

    1. Turn on laser alignment lights.
    2. Move table into gantry until axial internal alignment lights are aligned with phantom's axial reference mark.
    3. Adjust phantom holder side knob until sagittal internal alignment lights are aligned with phantom's sagittal reference mark.
    4. Elevate table until coronal internal alignment lights are aligned with phantom's coronal reference mark.
    5. Set Internal Landmark.
    6. Move table out of gantry 80mm.
      note:

      Axial internal alignment lights should be in water area of phantom.

    7. Elevate table 40mm.
    8. Click CONFIRM.
    9. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Phantom Centering is performed.
    10. Adjust phantom position if results are out of specification range.
      note:

      Phantom center specification is ± 1.0mm.

    11. Repeat steps [h] – [j] until phantom is centered.
    12. Click CONTINUE when phantom is centered.
  8. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Water Phantom Calibrations (Small) are performed.
  9. Elevate table 40mm.
  10. Center phantom.
    1. Click CONFIRM.
    2. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Phantom Centering is performed.
    3. Adjust phantom position if results are out of specification range.
      note:

      Phantom center specification is ± 1.0mm.

    4. Repeat steps [a] – [c] until phantom is centered.
    5. Press CONTINUE when phantom is centered.
  11. Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Water Phantom Calibrations (Large) are performed.
  12. Click OK in Attention window.
  13. Click QUIT in Scanner Utilities window.
