Overview

This document provides the necessary steps to test for band artifacts.

Perform Center Phantom.
Set Internal Landmark.
Select NEW PATIENT.
Type the following entries in the listed Patient Information fields:
1. Patient ID: Service
2. Patient Name: Band Test
Select Service from Protocol Selection, Anatomical Selector.
Select MANUFACTURING, IMGSER 20CMQA.
Select Series 2, Series Description: QA3 Heli/0.51/120kV/135mA/1s, by clicking NEXT SERIES twice.
Click CONFIRM.
Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM when it flashes.
Press START on SCIM when it flashes.
Click END EXAM.
If PPS Response window is displayed, click COMPLETE.
Select ImageWorks desktop.
Select scanned examination from List/Select browser.
Click VIEWER and visually review all images for band artifacts.
For images depicting bands, perform the following steps.
1. Select SERVICE desktop and move Service desktop to left monitor.
2. Select IMAGE QUALITY from Service desktop.
3. Select IMAGE ANALYSIS and move Image Analysis window to left monitor.
4. Select image from right monitor List/Select browser.
5. Click MANUAL radio button on Image Analysis window.
6. Click MANUAL selection button, BAND.
7. Click ACCEPT.
8. Follow instructions in Image Analysis window lower right pane, to size Band ROI and analyze.
9. From Report window, if Avg. Ref. Band Factor is out of specification range +/-2.8, perform appropriate corrective action.
10. Click [DISMISS] in Report window.
11. Click QUIT in Image Analysis window.
