Vyper DoD Air Plenum Assy
1 Overview
The DoD air plenum is comprised of the filter assembly, KFC fan controller assembly and three fans.

2 Filter
There is a single filter with honeycomb EMC shield integrated onto the back side of the filter. With the fan plate off the front of the air plenum, the filter side can be seen. The EMC shield is susceptible to damage so care must be taken when handling the filter assembly.
3 Fans
There are three fans mounted to a fan plate on the front of the Air plenum.
4 KFC Fan Controller Assembly
The Kunlun fan controller (KFC) is designed to monitor and maintain the temperature of the Detector Assembly in the DoD System. The DoD Control Board (DCB) originally performed the task to monitor the status of the fan controller.
The detector plenum temperature control algorithm resides in firmware on the fan speed control board (KFC) using thermistor-based temperature feedback data. According to the thermistor temperature data, KFC perform the control strategy to control the fan speed to make the temperature of the detector in the range of 24~36oC. The KFC passes the alarm information to the DCB via RS232.
