Inverter Gate Command Test

Prerequisites

Overview

The objective of this procedure is to verify that the HV power inverter drive is working properly. No X-Ray is generated in this test. A summary of the procedure follows:

  • Disable HVDC

  • Launch diagnostic tool

  • Run "exposure"

  • Observe results

Procedure

  1. Perform a Scan Hardware Reset from the SYSTEM RESETS window found on the UTILITIES tab of the Common Service Desktop.
    note:

If a scan hardware reset is not performed then the gate command test may generate false failures.

  2. Remove the gantry right side cover.
  3. Disable HVDC using service switch panel HVDC Enable switch.
  4. Launch the GENERATOR TOOL from the DIAGNOSTICS tab of the Common Service Desktop.
  5. Click the KV DIAGNOSTICS button, then select the GATE COMMAND TEST tool.

If a scan hardware reset is not performed then false failures may occur during scanning or during other diagnostic tests.

  8. Enable HVDC using the service switch panel HVDC Enable switch.
  9. Replace the gantry right side cover.

Finalization

  1. If this test fails, your system has an inverter problem.
  2. If the test passes, the sequence normally dictates that you will move to the Shorted Inverter Test
