HP Host Computer Z800 FX4800 Graphic Card Replacement
Prerequisites
Procedure
- Select one of the following methods to Power OFF the Operator
Console:
- If Applications are up, click on the Shut Down button and select Shutdown.
The Operator Console monitor will display a 'Power Down' message when it is acceptable to power OFF the Operator Console.
- If Applications are down, open a Unix Shell. Type: halt.
- If Applications are up, click on the Shut Down button and select Shutdown.
- Power OFF the console at the front panel switch when ‘System Halted’ message is displayed.
- Remove the left side and rear covers from the console.

- Disconnect the power cable from the FX4800 graphic card, press
the card slot release lever and pull out the old graphic card.
- Replace the existing FX4800 graphic card with new one, insert
in slot #5.
- Reconnect any cables that have been disconnected and reinstall all removed components.
Finalization
- Power on console and open a shell, then type:
cat /proc/driver/nvidia/cards/*
note:If System APP Software is 15BW19.x, use cat /proc/driver/nvidia/cards/1/* to check GPU card.
- Check the result shown as below: Model: Quadro FX

- Refer to System Scanning Test to confirm proper operation.
- Reinstall the console covers.
