System Scanning Test
Prerequisites
Overview
The System Scanning Test provides the necessary steps to exercise the system and to ensure system integrity before releasing.
1 Phantom Setup
Procedure
- Record phantom serial number on System Scanning Test Report.
- Perform Center Phantom.
- Set Internal Landmark.
2 Acquire Scans
Procedure
- Select NEW PATIENT.
- Type following entries in listed Patient Information fields:
- Patient ID: Service
- Patient Name: System Scanning Test
- Select Service from Protocol Selection, Anatomical Selector.
- Select [MANUFACTURING].
- If SERVICE SYSTEM SCANNING TEST exists, perform Using Service System Scanning Test Protocol.
- If SERVICE SYSTEM SCANNING TEST does not exist, perform Using System Scan/Cust Qual Reli Protocol.
note: Not all software releases have the protocol as of the release of this procedure.
2.1 Using Service System Scanning Test Protocol
Procedure
- Select SERVICE SYSTEM SCANNING TEST.
- Click CONFIRM.
- Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM when it flashes.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. First Scout scans are performed.
- Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM when it flashes.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Second Scout scans are performed.
- Click NEXT SERIES
- Click CONFIRM.
- Press MOVE TO SCAN and PRESCRIBED
TILT on SCIM when they flash.note: Hold PRESCRIBED TILT until tilt position is reached.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Axial scans are performed.
- Click NEXT SERIES
- Click CONFIRM.
- Press MOVE TO SCAN and PRESCRIBED
TILT on SCIM when they flash.note: Hold PRESCRIBED TILT until tilt position is reached.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Helical scans are performed.
- Click END EXAM.
- If PPS Response window is displayed, click COMPLETE.
- Skip to Section 4.3.
2.2 Using System Scan/Cust Qual Reli Protocol
Procedure
- Select SYSTEM SCAN/CUST QUAL RELI.
- Modify Series 1 – Scout as follows:note: All Scout protocols are modified.
- Click START LOC.
- Enter S80 and press ENTER.
- Click END LOC.
- Enter I80 and press ENTER.
- Click CONFIRM.
- Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM when it flashes.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. First Scout scans are performed.
- Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM when it flashes.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Second Scout scans are performed.
- Click NEXT SERIES
- Delete Groups 3 (Images 65-96) and 4 (Images 97-128) of Series
2.
- Select Images 97 - 128 and click DELETE SELECTED GROUP.
- Select Images 65 - 96, if not already selected, and click DELETE SELECTED GROUP.
- Modify Series 2 – Axial as follows:note: All Axial protocols are modified.
- Click GANTRY TILT.
- Enter I15 and press ENTER.
- Click START LOC.
- Enter S65 and press ENTER.
- Click END LOC.
- Enter I15.235 and press ENTER.
- Click CONFIRM.
- Press MOVE TO SCAN and PRESCRIBED
TILT on SCIM when they flash.note: Hold PRESCRIBED TILT until tilt position is reached.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Axial scans are performed.
- Click NEXT SERIES
- Modify Series 3 - Helical as follows:note: All Helical protocols are modified.
- Click START LOC.
- Enter S90 and press ENTER.
- Click END LOC.
- Enter I40 and press ENTER.
- Click NO. OF IMAGES.
- Enter 27 and press ENTER.
- Click CONFIRM.
- Press [MOVE TO SCAN] and [PRESCRIBED TILT] on SCIM when they
flash.note: Hold PRESCRIBED TILT until tilt position is reached.
- Press START on SCIM when it flashes. Helical scans are performed.
- Click END EXAM.
- If PPS Response window is displayed, click COMPLETE.
3 Image Review
Procedure
- Select ImageWorks desktop.
- Select the scanned examination from List/Select browser.
- Click VIEWER and visually review all
images from for unusual artifacts (rings, streaks, shading, cupping,
noise, or center artifacts).note: If any artifacts are identified, perform appropriate corrective action to resolve problem and retest.
- Record results on System Scanning Test Report and store with system

4 Finalization
