NIO64 Host Computer (Z820) Power Supply Replacement

Prerequisites

Overview

This procedure shall be followed when replacing the Power Supply in the Z820 computer on a NIO64 Console.

1 Z820 Computer Removal

Procedure

  1. Shutdown system. Select one of the following methods to Power OFF the Console:
    • If Applications are up, click on the [Shut Down] button on desktop display and select [Shutdown].

    • If Applications are down, open a Terminal Window. Type: halt , then press ENTER.

    • When halt command has finished, power Off the console at the front panel switch.

  2. Apply LOTO. See Equipment Service - Lockout-Tagout-PPE procedure.
  3. Remove Front and Top covers from NIO64 console.

    Refer to Replacement → Console (RIO) → Console Cover Removal and Installation.

  4. Remove the Z820 computer from the NIO64 console chassis.

2 Power Supply Replacement

Procedure

  1. Open the Z820 computer side access panel.
  2. Locate Power Supply FRU by referencing the Illustration below.

  3. Disconnect a power cable from the power supply.
  4. Pull out the old power supply from the Host computer, replace the z820 power supply with new one.

  5. Connect the power cable to the power supply.
  6. Reinstall the side access panel.

3 Restore the Console

Procedure

  1. Fully slide the Z820 computer back into the console chassis, until mounting brackets are flush against the console chassis.
  2. Install and torque the four (4) 3mm socket cap screws that mount the Z820 computer in the NIO64 console.

    Torque each the for (4) 3mm socket cap mounting screws to:

  3. Reconnect all cables removed earlier to the Z820 computer.
  4. Remove LOTO on console.

4 Finalization

Procedure

  1. Confirm Host computer powers up when console power is turned on.
  2. Perform the Functional Checks → System Scanning Test instructions from the procedure list.
  3. Install console covers.
