Gantry Bore Cover Support Tool Usage
Prerequisites
Overview
This procedure explains how to remove and re-install the CT Gantry bore cover using tool.
1 Bore Cover Removal
Procedure
- Assemble the support tool.

- Remove the Mylar window.
- Raise the Table to maximum height.
- Move the cradle until the position of the cradle head is approximately
10 cm backward from the gantry rear cover.

- Remove gantry right side cover.
Refer to Parts Replacement → Gantry → Enclosure → (Cover Removal Procedures).
- Stop the rotor of X-ray tube in case of Liquid Bearing Tube before HVDC off. Refer to Liquid Bearing Tube Rotor stop procedure for details.
- Turn OFF the Axial Drive, HVDC and 120 VAC switches on the gantry’s Service Switch Panel.
- Remove the gantry left side cover and top covers, and slide the rear cover backward.
- Position the support tool on the cradle and push it against
the bore cover.

- Push up the stopper of the support tool and fit it to the rim
of the bore cover (the groove of the scan window) to fix the support
tool.

- Disengage the bore cover from the gantry. The bore cover is
supported by the support tool on the cradle.

- Slide out the bore cover by moving the cradle backward.

2 Bore Cover Installation
Procedure
- Slide the bore cover by moving the cradle, and attach it to the gantry.
- Engage the bore cover to the gantry.
Refer to Parts Replacement → Gantry → Enclosure → (Cover Installation Procedures).
- Push down the stopper of the support tool, and remove the support
tool.

3 Finalization
Procedure
- Continue with other cover installation procedures as necessary. When AC power is restored to the system, prior to enabling axial drive or HVDC, remember to rotate the gantry by hand to ensure there is no interference between covers and rotating components.
