Console Network Switch Replacement

Prerequisites

Overview

1 Removal Procedure

Procedure

  1. Select one of the following methods to Power OFF the Operator Console:
    1. If Applications are up, click on the Shut Down button and select Shutdown.

      The Operator Console monitor will display a 'Power Down' message when it is acceptable to power OFF the Operator Console.

    2. If Applications are down, open a Unix Shell. Type: halt.
  2. Power OFF the console at the front panel switch.

  3. Remove the top cover.

    Refer to Replacement > Console > (Console Cover Removal and Installation Procedure).

  4. Disconnect all cable connectors from the console network switch.

  5. Remove the network switch from the console.

2 Installation Procedure

Procedure

  1. Attach the Velcro tape to the bottom of the new network switch.

  2. Install the new network switch in place.
  3. Re-Connect all cable connectors to the network switch.

3 Finalization

Procedure

  1. Refer to System Scanning Test to confirm proper operation.
  2. Re-Install the console cover.
