AC Power Distribution and CB Assembly Replacement

Prerequisites

Overview

This procedure replaces the AC Power Distribution and Circuit Breaker Assembly. The Power Pan ASSY VCT is referred to as the AC Power Distribution and Circuit Breaker in this document.

Procedure

  1. Tilt the gantry all the way back to allow easier access to the assembly in the base of the gantry.
  2. Make sure to follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements while performing this procedure. Refer to Equipment Service - Lockout-Tagout-PPE procedure.
  3. Remove covers as needed.
  4. Remove the Power Pan Bulkhead Filter Assembly to access the AC Power Distribution and Circuit Breaker Assembly. Refer to Power Pan Bulkhead Filter Assembly Replacement procedure.
  5. Remove two remaining hex bolts.
  6. Remove plastic protector shield.
  7. Remove cable ties as needed.
    note:

    The removal of the cable harness is difficult and time consuming.

  8. Disconnect cable harness from contactor, filters, power connectors, and circuit breakers. Make sure cables are labeled for re-installation or document cable placement.
  9. Remove AC Power Distribution and Circuit Breaker Assembly from system. See Figure 2.

  10. Place new AC Power Distribution and Circuit Breaker Assembly into base of CT Gantry.
  11. Reconnect all cables as documented or labeled.
  12. Install plastic protector shield.
  13. Tighten bolts to secure AC Power Distribution and Circuit Breaker Assembly in place.
  14. Replace removed cable ties.
  15. Install Power Pan Bulkhead Filter Assembly. Refer to Power Pan Bulkhead Filter Assembly Replacement procedure.
  16. Install all removed covers.
  17. Remove all installed Lockout/tagout devices.
  18. Restore power to the system. Refer to Equipment Service - Lockout-Tagout-PPE procedure.

Finalization

  1. Perform a System Scanning Test from the Functional Checks menu of the service manual to ensure system operation.
