(12HW28.8) Service Pack 3 Installation Procedure

Prerequisites

Overview

This procedure describes 12HW28.8 Service Pack 3.0 installation procedure.

The Service Pack ３.0 software CDROM contains Service Pack 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 patches.

1 Check software version currently installed

Procedure

  1. Open a Unix shell.
  2. Type swhwinfo ENTER

    Confirm that the base software version is 12HW28.8.

2 Service Pack Installation

Procedure

  1. Perform Save System State (select [All] button).
  2. If Exam Split option is installed, record the mode (HES or VES) by the following command.
    1. Open Unix shell and and log on as root.
    2. Type ls -l ~ctuser/ves/.hesMode
    3. If there is .hesMode file, it is HES mode. If not, It is VES mode
  3. Uninstall the following options if they are installed.

    • AutoBone_Xpress

    • AVA_Xpress

    • CardEP

    • CardIQ_Xpress_Reveal

    • CT_Colono_Pro3D_EC

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_MultiOrgan

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_Neuro

    • Volume Viewer

    • Exam Split

  4. Open a Unix shell.
  5. If Application software is up, type the following command.

    {ctuser@hostname} cleanMon

  6. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -
    2. Password: <password>
  7. Insert the Service Pack CD into the Host DVD drive
  8. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c
      note:

      If Service Pack 1.0 is already installed, go to step e.

      note:

      If Service Pack 2.0 is already installed, go to step h.

    2. The following message is displayed

      These patches from cdrom will be installed:

      12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack1.0

      12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack2.0

      12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack3.0

      -------------------------------------------

      I will install update 12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack1.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    3. Input y to install Service Pack 1.0.
    4. Confirm the “Update 12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack1.0 has been installed successfully” message.
    5. The following message is displayed.

      I will install update 12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack2.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    6. Input y to install Service Pack 2.0.
    7. Confirm the “Update 12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack2.0 has been installed successfully” message.
    8. The following message is displayed.

      I will install update 12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack3.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    9. Input y to install Service Pack 3.0.
    10. Confirm the “Update 12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack3.0 has been installed successfully” message.
  9. Check Software Version:

    [root@hostname]# swhwinfo ENTER

  10. System should reply with a response similar to the following:

    12HW28.8_SP3-0-x. <hw info (ex. H40_P2_SS64_G_GTL) >

  11. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive.
  12. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  13. Perform Restore System State. (Select correct HES/VES setting if asked by system.)
  14. Restart the system:
  15. Confirm all option keys are restored correctly by Verify Options in Common Service Desktop.

3 How to uninstall Service Pack

Procedure

  1. Perform Save System State (select [All] button)
  2. If Exam Split option is installed, record the mode (HES or VES) by the following command.
    1. Open Unix shell and and log on as root.
    2. Type ls -l ~ctuser/ves/.hesMode
    3. If there is .hesMode file, it is HES mode. If not, It is VES mode.
  3. Uninstall the following options if they are installed.

    • AutoBone_Xpress

    • AVA_Xpress

    • CardEP

    • CardIQ_Xpress_Reveal

    • CT_Colono_Pro3D_EC

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_MultiOrgan

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_Neuro

    • Volume Viewer

    • Exam Split

  4. Open a Unix shell.
  5. If application software is up, type the following command.

    {ctuser@hostname} cleanMon

  6. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -
    2. Password: <password>
  7. Perform the following steps to uninstall the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install –u
    2. The following message is displayed.

      The following patches are installed on system:

      ----------------------------------------------

      12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack3.0

      12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack2.0

      12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack1.0

      ----------------------------------------------

      I will uninstall update 12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack3.0, is this ok? [y/n]

    3. Input y to uninstall Service Pack 3.0.
    4. The following message is displayed.

      I will uninstall update 12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack2.0, is this ok? [y/n]

    5. Input y to uninstall Service Pack 2.0.
    6. The following message is displayed.

      I will uninstall update 12HW28.8_GEHCServicePack1.0, is this ok? [y/n]

    7. Input y to uninstall Service Pack 1.0.
  8. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  9. Restore System State. (Select appropriate HES/VES setting if asked by system.)
  10. Restart the system:
  11. Confirm all option keys are restored correctly by Verify Options in Common Service Desktop.
