(11HW34.x) Service Pack Installation Procedure

Prerequisites

Overview

1 Check software version currently installed

Procedure

  1. Open a Unix shell.
  2. Type swhwinfoENTER

    Confirm that the base software version is 11HW34.16.

2 Service Pack 1.0 Installation

Procedure

  1. Uninstall “Denta Scan” Option if it is installed.
  2. Open a Unix shell.
  3. If Application software is up, perform the following command.

    {ctuser@hostname} cleanMon

  4. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -
    2. Password: <password>
  5. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.
  6. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c
    2. Input y to install Service Pack.
    3. Confirm the “Update ******* has been installed successfully” message.
  7. Check Software Version:
    1. Type: [root@hostname]# swhwinfoENTER
    2. System should reply with a response similar to the following:

      11HW34.16_SP1-0-2.H40_P2_SS64_G_HLT

  8. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive.
  9. Perform the following post install steps:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  10. After the application is up, install “Denta Scan” Option if it was installed.

3 How to uninstall Service Pack 1.0

Procedure

  1. Uninstall “Denta Scan” Option if it is installed.
  2. Open a Unix shell.
  3. If Application software is up, perform the following command.

    {ctuser@hostname} cleanMon

  4. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -
    2. Password: <password>
  5. Perform the following steps to uninstall the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -u
    2. Input y to uninstall Service Pack.
  6. Perform the following post uninstall steps:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  7. After the application is up, install “Denta Scan” Option if it was installed.
