(10HW33.x) Service Pack Installation Procedure

Prerequisites

Overview

Procedure

  1. If Application software is up, perform the following command to shutdown the application.

    {ctuser@hostname} cleanMon ENTER

  2. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su – ENTER
    2. Password: #bigguy ENTER
  3. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.
  4. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install –c
    2. Input “y” to install the patch.
  5. After the patch installation process completes, verify that the Service Pack loaded correctly:
    1. {root@hostname} swhwinfo
    2. Confirm right software version.
  6. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVDROM drive.
  7. Type : [root@hostname] # sync

    [root@hostname] # sync

    [root@hostname] # reboot

  8. Perform the Flash Download (if required).
  9. Restore system state.
    note:

    When install Class M software in the system which a Service Pack (SP2.0 or SP3.0) is installed in, please to in the following procedures:

    1. Uninstall SP2.0 and SP3.0 software.

    2. Install Class M software.

    3. Install SP2.0 and SP3.0 software again.

    Service Pack (SP2.0) that included in Service Pack (SP3) Media contains the update of the Class M software. (If Class M software is installed after SP2.0 installation, the update contents of the Class M software in SP2.0 is missing.)

    note:

    This Service Pack (SP2.0) updates the JEDI database. Therefore it is necessary to perform Filament Cal after Flash Download.

    note:

    This procedure can be done at OC line but need to perform Filament Cal after Flash Download at the system.
