This procedure describes 20HW16.10 Service Pack 1.0 installation procedure.

4 Procedure

4.1 Prerequisite

The SP1.0 only supports EHL1.5. Do NOT install the SP1.0 if the CT System is running with EHL1.3.

4.2 Check software version currently installed

  1. Open a Unix shell.

  2. Type {ctuser@hostname} swhwinfo ENTER

    Confirm that the base software version is 20HW16.10.

    If patch is already loaded, the system shall respond with : 20HW16.10_SP1-0-X.<hw info (ex. H40_PN_CM64_G_GTL)>. Stop, no need to install patch.

4.3 Service Pack 1.0 Installation

  1. If the following options are installed, uninstall them using “Install Options” tool from Configuration tab of CSD menu.
    • SmartSubscription -ASiR-V
    • SmartSubscription -MAR
    • SmartSubscription -AW Server
    • SmartSubscription -DLIR
    • SmartSubscription -Connection
  2. Open a Unix shell.
  3. If Application software is up, perform the following command.

    {ctuser@hostname} cleanMon [ENTER]

  4. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su - [ENTER]
    2. Password: <password>
  5. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.
  6. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c [ENTER]

    2. The following message is displayed.

      The following files found in cdrom match current system:

      ==============================================================

      20HW16.10_GEHCServicePack1.0-1-6.i386.rpm

      ==============================================================

      copy patches to system...

      These patches from cdrom will be installed:

      20HW16.10_GEHCServicePack1.0

      --------------------------------------------------------------

      I will install update 20HW16.10_GEHCServicePack1.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    3. Input y to install Service Pack 1.0.
    4. Confirm “Update 20HW16.10_GEHCServicePack1.0 has been installed successfully”message.
  7. Check Software Version:

    System should reply with a response similar to the following:

    20HW16.10_SP1-0-6. <hw info (ex. H40_PN_CM64_G_GTL)>

  8. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive.
  9. Restart the system using following command:

    [root@hostname]# reboot [ENTER]

  10. Execute Flash Download if required.
  11. Execute the configuration of Smart Subscription connection and install the following options that are removed at step1.
    • SmartSubscription -Connection
    • SmartSubscription -ASiR-V
    • SmartSubscription -MAR
    • SmartSubscription -AW Server
    • SmartSubscription -DLIR
  12. Confirm all option keys which are removed at step1 are restored correctly by using Verify Options in Common Service Desktop.

5 Finalization

  1. Perform sanity scans (Scout, Helical, Axial, Cine)
  2. Confirm that all scans are successfully completed and images are displayed in the Autoview.

6 Appendix - How to uninstall Service Pack

  1. If the following options are installed, uninstall them using “Install Options” tool from Configuration tab of CSD menu.
    • SmartSubscription -ASiR-V
    • SmartSubscription -MAR
    • SmartSubscription -AW Server
    • SmartSubscription -DLIR
    • SmartSubscription -Connection
  2. Open a Unix shell.
  3. If Application software is up, perform the following command.

    {ctuser@hostname} cleanMon [ENTER]

  4. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su - [ENTER]
    2. Password: <password>
  5. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.
  6. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -u [ENTER]
    2. The following message is displayed.

      The following patches are installed on system:

      20HW16.10_GEHCServicePack1.0

      --------------------------------------------------------------

      I will uninstall update 20HW16.10_GEHCServicePack1.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    3. Input y to uninstall Service Pack 1.0.

    4. Confirm the following message.

      Update 20HW16.10_GEHCServicePack1.0 has been uninstalled successfully.

      Uninstall is complete, please use “patch_status” to check the status.

  7. Restart the system using following command:

    [root@hostname]# reboot [ENTER]

  8. Execute Flash Download if required.
  9. Execute the configuration of Smart Subscription connection and following options that are removed at step1.
    • SmartSubscription -Connection
    • SmartSubscription -ASiR-V
    • SmartSubscription -MAR
    • SmartSubscription -AW Server
    • SmartSubscription -DLIR
  10. Confirm all option keys which are removed at step1 are restored correctly by using Verify Options in Common Service Desktop.
  11. Perform sanity scans (Scout, Helical, Axial, Cine) and confirm that all scans are successfully completed and images are displayed in the Autoview.
