4 Procedure

4.1 Check software version currently installed

Confirm that the base software version is 16HW45.1 with Service Pack1.0 as follows.

  1. Open a Unix shell.

  2. Type swhwinfoENTER

  3. Verify that the base software version as follows

    16HW45.1_SP1-0-1.<hw info (example H40_PN_CM64_G_GMV) >

    If not, upgrade the system at first.

4.2 Service Pack Installation

  1. If application software is up, perform Application Shutdown from Common Service Desktop.

  2. Open a Unix shell.

  3. In the Unix Shell, become root:

    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -

    2. Password: <password>

  4. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.

  5. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack.

    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c Enter

    2. The following message is displayed.

      note:

      The message may be different from below depending on the service pack already installed.

      These patches from cdrom will be installed:

      16HW45.1_GEHCServicePack2.0

      -------------------------------------------

      I will install update 16HW45.1_GEHCServicePack2.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    3. Type yEnter to install Service Pack 2.0

    4. Confirm “Update 16HW45.1_GEHCServicePack2.0 has been installed successfully” message.

  6. Check Software Version:

    1. Type: [root@hostname]# swhwinfoENTER

    2. System should reply with a response similar to the following (ignore that the software version is mismatch)

      16HW45.1_SP2-0-2.<hw info (ex. H40_PN_CM64_G_GTL) >

  7. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive.

  8. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot Enter

  9. Perform Flash download.

5 Finalization

  1. Perform sanity scans (Scout, Helical, Axial, Cine).

  2. Confirm that all scans are successful and images are displayed.

6 Appendix - How to uninstall Service Pack

  1. If the following software options are installed, uninstall them at first:

    • DAP -DigtalProcessing

    • DAP -ASiR-V

    • DAP -MAR

  2. If Application software is up, perform Application Shutdown from Common Service Desktop.

  3. Open a Unix shell.

  4. In the Unix Shell and becomes to root:

    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -

    2. Password: <password>

  5. Perform the following steps to uninstall the Service Pack.

    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -u Enter

    2. Verify that the following message is displayed.

      The following patches are installed on system:

      ----------------------------------------------

      16HW45.1_GEHCServicePack2.0

      16HW45.1_GEHCServicePack1.0

      ----------------------------------------------

      I will uninstall update 16HW45.1_GEHCServicePack2.0, is this ok? [y/n]

    3. Type y Enter to uninstall Service Pack 2.0.

    4. Verify that the following message is displayed.

      Update 16HW45.1_GEHCServicePack2.0 has been uninstalled successfully.

      I will uninstall update 16HW45.1_GEHCServicePack1.0, is this ok? [y/n]

    5. Type nEnter not to uninstall Service Pack 1.0

  6. Check Software Version:

    1. Type: [root@hostname]# swhwinfoENTER

    2. System should reply with a response similar to the following:

      16HW45.1_SP1–0–1<hw info (ex. H40_PN_CM64_G_GTL) >

  7. Perform the following post uninstall steps:

    [root@hostname]# reboot Enter
