2 Procedure Overview

This procedure describes 15HW25.2 Service Pack 3.3 installation procedure.

The Service Pack 3.1 software CDROM contains Service Pack 3.0, 3.1 and Service Pack 3.3 patches.

4 Procedure

4.1 Check software version currently installed

Confirm that the base software version is 15HW25.2 with Service Pack3.1 as follows.

  1. Open a Unix shell.

  2. Type swhwinfoENTER

  3. Confirm that the software version is 15HW25.2_SP3-0-1 <hw info (ex. H40_P2_SS64_G_GTL)>.

    If not, upgrade the system at first.

4.2 Service Pack Installation

  1. If application software is up, perform Application Shutdown from Common Service Desktop.

  2. Open a Unix shell.

  3. In the Unix Shell, become root:

    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -

    2. Password: <password>

  4. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.

  5. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack:

    note:

    Always install Service Pack 3.0. 3.1 and Service Pack 3.3 together.

    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c

    2. The following message is displayed.

      note:

      The message may be different from below depending on the service pack already installed.

      These patches from cdrom will be installed:

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.0

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.1

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.3

      -------------------------------------------

      I will install update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    3. Input y to install Service Pack 3.0.

    4. Confirm “Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.0 has been installed successfully” message.

    5. The following message is displayed.

      note:

      The message may be different from below depending on the service pack already installed.

      Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.0 has been installed successfully.

      I will install update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.1 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    6. Input y to install Service Pack 3.1.

    7. Confirm “Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.1 has been installed successfully” message.

    8. The following message is displayed.

      I will install update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.3 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

      Input y to install Service Pack 3.3.

    9. Confirm “Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.3 has been installed successfully” message.

  6. Check Software Version:

    1. Type: [root@hostname]# swhwinfo ENTER

    2. System should reply with a response similar to the following:

      15HW25.2_SP3-3-2 <hw info (ex. H40_P2_SS64_G_GTL) >

  7. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive.

  8. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  9. Perform Flash Download.

5 Finalization

  1. Perform sanity scans (scout, Helical, Axial, Cine).

  2. Confirm that all scans are successful and images are displayed.

6 Appendix - How to uninstall Service Pack

  1. If the following software options are installed, uninstall them at first:

    • DAP -DigtalProcessing

    • DAP -ASiR-V

    • DAP -MAR

  2. If Application software is up, perform Application Shutdown from Common Service Desktop.

  3. Open a Unix shell.

  4. In the Unix Shell, become root:

    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -

    2. Password: <password>

  5. Perform the following steps to uninstall the Service Pack CD:

    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -u

    2. The following message is displayed.

      The following patches are installed on system:

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.3

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.1

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.0

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack2.0

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack1.0

      ----------------------------------------------

      I will uninstall update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.3, is this ok? [y/n]

      Input y to uninstall Service Pack 3.3.

      I will uninstall update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.1, is this ok? [y/n]

    3. Input y to uninstall Service Pack 3.1.

    4. Confirm the following message.

      Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.1 has been uninstalled successfully.

    5. The following message is displayed.

      ###############################################################

      It's necessary to uninstall SP3.0 after uninstalling SP3.1.

      ###############################################################

      There are some running programs that use files deleted by recent upgrade.

      You may wish to restart some of them. Run 'zypper ps' to list these programs.

      Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.1 has been uninstalled successfully.

    6. Input y to uninstall Service Pack 3.0.

    7. Confirm the following message.

      Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.0 has been uninstalled successfully.

  6. The following message is displayed. Input n to quit patch uninstall menu.

    Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack3.0 has been uninstalled successfully.

    1. Input n to uninstall Service Pack 2.0.

    2. Confirm the following message.

      Exiting on user command

      I will uninstall update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack1.0, is this ok? [y/n]

    3. Input n to uninstall Service Pack 1.0

  7. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  8. Perform Flash Download.

  9. Perform sanity scans. Refer to Finalization for the details.
