(15HW25.2) Service Pack 2 Installation Procedure

2 Overview

This procedure describes 15W25.2 Service Pack 2 installation procedure.

The Service Pack 2 software CD contains Service Pack 1 and 2 patches.

4 Procedure

4.1 Check software version currently installed

  1. Open a Unix shell.

  2. Type swhwinfoENTER

    Confirm that the base software version is 15HW25.2.

4.2 Service Pack Installation

  1. Perform Save System State (select [All] button).

  2. If Exam Split option is installed, record the mode (HES or VES) by the following command.

    1. Open Unix shell and and log on as root.

    2. Type ls -l ~ctuser/ves/.hesMode

    3. If there is .hesMode file, it is HES mode. If not, It is VES mode.

  3. Uninstall the following options if they are installed. And record them.

    • AutoBone_Xpress

    • AVA_Xpress

    • CardEP

    • CardIQ_Xpress_Reveal

    • CT_Colono_Pro3D_EC

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_MultiOrgan

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_Neuro

    • Volume Viewer

  4. Perform Application Shutdown from the CSD Utilities menu.

  5. Insert the Service Pack CD into the Host DVD drive

  6. Open a Unix shell.

  7. In the Unix Shell, become root:

    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -

    2. Password: <password>

  8. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:

    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c

      note:

      If Service Pack 1.0 is already installed, go to step e.

    2. The following message is displayed.

      The following files found in cdrom match current system:

      ==============================================================

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack1.0-1-1.i386.rpm

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack2.0-1-1.i386.rpm

      ==============================================================

      copy patches to system...

      These patches from cdrom will be installed:

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack1.0

      --------------------------------------------------------------

      I will install update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack1.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    3. Input y to install Service Pack 1.0.

    4. Confirm that the following message is displayed:

      Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack1.0 has been installed successfully.

    5. The following message is displayed.

      I will install update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack2.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

    6. Input y to install Service Pack 2.0.

    7. Confirm that the following message is displayed:

      Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack2.0 has been installed successfully.

  9. Check Software Version:

    [root@hostname]# swhwinfo ENTER

  10. System should reply with a response similar to the following:

    15HW25.2_SP2-0-1. <hw info (ex. H40_P2_SS64_G_GTL)>

  11. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive

  12. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  13. Perform Restore System State. (Select [All] button)

  14. Restart the system:

  15. Confirm all removed option keys are restored correctly by Verify Options in Common Service Desktop.

6 Appendix - How to uninstall Service Pack

  1. Perform Save System State (select [All] button)

  2. If Exam Split option is installed, record the mode (HES or VES) by the following command.

      I will uninstall update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack2.0, is this ok? [y/n]

    3. Input y to uninstall Service Pack 2.0.

    4. The following message is displayed.

      The following package is going to be REMOVED:

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack2.0

      ...

      Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack2.0 has been uninstalled successfully.

      I will uninstall update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack1.0, is this ok? [y/n]

    5. Input y to uninstall Service Pack 1.0.

    6. The following message is displayed.

      The following package is going to be REMOVED:

      15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack1.0

      ...

      Update 15HW25.2_GEHCServicePack1.0 has been uninstalled successfully.

  8. Check Software Version:

    [root@hostname]# swhwinfo ENTER

  9. System should reply with a response similar to the following:

    15HW25.2. <hw info (ex. H40_P2_SS64_G_GTL)>

  10. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  11. Restore System State.

  12. Restart the system.

  13. Confirm all removed option keys are restored correctly by Verify Options in Common Service Desktop.
