Quality Assurance Test

Prerequisites

Overview

This document provides the necessary steps to ensure system Image Quality.

1 Phantom Setup

Procedure

  1. Record phantom serial number in the appropriate GE e4879 Installation form, GE e4879 Certified Component Verification form, or GE Data Report Planned Maintenance Schedule form.
  2. Perform Center Phantom
  3. Set Internal Landmark.

2 Standard Test

2.1 Acquire Images

Procedure

  1. Complete Phantom Setup.
  2. Select NEW PATIENT.
  3. Type the following entries in the listed Patient Information fields:
    1. Patient ID: Service
    2. Patient Name: Quality Assurance Test
  4. Select Service from Protocol Selection, Anatomical Selector.
  5. Select MANUFACTURING, IMGSER 20CMQA.
  6. Click CONFIRM.
  7. Press MOVE TO SCAN on SCIM/GSCB when it flashes.
  8. Press START on SCIM/GSCB when it flashes.
  9. Select NEXT SERIES
  10. Repeat Step 6 - Step 9 until all series have been performed and completed.
  11. Click END EXAM.
  12. If PPS Response window is displayed, click QUIT.

2.2 Analysis

Procedure

  1. Select SERVICE desktop and move Service desktop to left monitor.
  2. Select IMAGE QUALITY from Service desktop.
  3. Select IMAGE ANALYSIS and move Image Analysis window to left monitor.
  4. Select scanned examination from right monitor List/Select browser.
    note: Series 1 and Image 1 should be selected. If not, select them.
  5. Click AUTO 1X radio button on Image Analysis window.
  6. Click AUTO 1X selection button, and select IMGSER 20QA and first test choice.
    note: Number of test choices correspond to the number of series in the scanned examination. The order of the test choice correlates with the series number of the scanned examination (Series 1/Test 1, Series 2/Test 2, etc.).
  7. Click ACCEPT.
    note: At test completion, a Report window is displayed, which includes specification limits and Pass/Fail results.
    note: Test Pass/Fail summary is posted at top of Report window.
    note: If test fails, repeat test. If test fails persistently, perform appropriate corrective action.
  8. Record Test Pass/Fail summary in the appropriate GE e4879 Installation form, GE e4879 Certified Component Verification form, or GE Data Report Planned Maintenance Schedule form.
  9. Click DISMISS in Report window.
  10. Select next series from right monitor List/Select browser.
  11. Repeat Step 5 - Step 10 until all tests have been performed.
  12. Click QUIT in Image Analysis window.

3 Finalization

Store the appropriate GE e4879 Installation form, GE e4879 Certified Component Verification form, or GE Data Report Planned Maintenance Schedule form with system history records. The results are stored in a text file on the scanner and can be retrieved at /usr/g/service/state/image_analysis.log.
