PDU Covers Remove/Install
Prerequisites
This procedure describes how to remove and install the covers for the PDU. Refer to the appropriate cover section:
1 Tube type check
The system may have a Liquid Bearing tube. Refer to the Equipment Service - LB Tube Management procedure to check the tube type and to properly shutdown the rotor.
2 PDU Top Cover Removal / Installation
2.1 PDU Top Cover Removal
Procedure
- Make sure to follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements while performing this procedure. Refer to the Equipment Service - Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Overview procedure in the Service Methods.
- Using a screwdriver loosen the screw holding the PDU Top Cover in place.
- Remove the PDU Top Cover.
2.2 PDU Top Cover Installation
Procedure
- Make sure to follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements while performing this procedure. Refer to the Equipment Service - Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Overview procedure in the Service Methods.
- Install the PDU Top Cover.
- Tighten the screw holding the PDU Top Cover in place.
3 PDU Front Cover Removal / Installation
3.1 PDU Front Cover Removal
Procedure
- Make sure to follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements while performing this procedure. Refer to the Equipment Service - Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Overview procedure in the Service Methods.
- Using a screwdriver loosen the screw holding the PDU Top Cover in place.
- Remove the PDU Top Cover.
- Remove the two screws holding the PDU Front Cover in place.
- Lift the PDU Front Cover up slightly until it clears the latches and set it aside.
3.2 PDU Front Cover Installation
Procedure
- Make sure to follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements while performing this procedure. Refer to the Equipment Service - Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Overview procedure in the Service Methods.
- Place the PDU Front Cover in its latches and slide the cover down.
- Tighten the two screws holding the PDU Front Cover in place.
- Install the PDU Top Cover and tighten the screw holding it in place.
4 PDU Back Cover Removal / Installation
4.1 PDU Back Cover Removal
Procedure
- Make sure to follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements while performing this procedure. Refer to the Equipment Service - Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Overview procedure in the Service Methods.
- Using a screwdriver loosen the screw holding the PDU Top Cover in place.
- Remove the PDU Top Cover.
- Remove the two screws holding the PDU Back Cover in place.
- Lift the PDU Back Cover up slightly until it clears the latches and set it aside.
4.2 PDU Back Cover Installation
Procedure
- Make sure to follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements while performing this procedure. Refer to the Equipment Service - Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Overview procedure in the Service Methods.
- Place the PDU Back Cover in its latches and slide the cover down.
- Tighten the two screws holding the PDU Back Cover in place.
- Install the PDU Top Cover and tighten the screw holding it in place.
5 PDU Side Cover Removal/Installation
5.1 PDU Side Cover Removal
Procedure
- Make sure to follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements while performing this procedure. Refer to the Equipment Service - Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Overview procedure in the Service Methods.
- Remove the PDU top, front, and back covers.
- Remove the two screws from the bottom front and bottom back of the PDU.
- Lift the side cover up and remove from the PDU.
5.2 PDU Side Cover Installation
Procedure
- Make sure to follow all Lockout/Tagout requirements while performing this procedure. Refer to the Equipment Service - Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Overview procedure in the Service Methods.
- Place PDU side cover in its latches and slide cover down.
- Tighten the two screws on the bottom front and bottom back of the PDU.
- Install the PDU top, front, and back covers.
