Filament Calibration

Prerequisites

Overview

The Filament Calibration tool runs an automated scan sequence and populates the JEDI database accordingly.

The Filament Cal should be run ONE TIME after a Reset TnT. It is considered to be good if the FIT value is <10 and the Delta is <14.

If the values are greater than specification, you must troubleshoot issue as there is arcing in the system.

DO NOT REPEATED FILAMENT CAL AGAIN WITHOUT RESETTING TNT.

note:

A successful Scan Hardware Reset and Reset TnT must be performed BEFORE running Filament cal.

Procedure

  1. Move table to longitudinal home position.
  2. Select DIAGNOSTICS from Service Desktop.
  3. Select GENERATOR TOOL - JEDI, or X-RAY GENERATION, GENERATOR TOOL - JEDI.
  4. Click FILAMENT CAL.
  5. Verify that DUCTILITY WARM UP, LARGE FILAMENT CAL, and SMALL FILAMENT CAL buttons are highlighted as selections.
  6. Click SCAN.
  7. Press [START] on SCIM when it flashes.
  8. Verify Filament cal values in report. Fit <10, Delta <14.
    note:

If Filament Calibration fails specifications, Troubleshoot cause of arcing and retry process beginning with “Scan Hardware Reset” above. Do not repeat Filament cal from this point as it will be building on a bad cal curve.

  9. Click CANCEL in Generator Filament Calibration window.
  10. Click DISMISS in Generator Tool - JEDI window.
